RESCUE:Toronto Humane Society Closing For A Few Weeks

Hi someone sent me this email, maybe someone in the TO area can help out some of these bunnies.

Hi Everyone,

The Toronto Humane Society will be closing its doors from April 12th
until June 1st, 2010. During this time, NO animals will be able to
remain in the building. That means we only have 10 days to find all
the animals at THS homes. This includes 44 rats, 18 rabbits, and 126
cats. If ever there was a time to adopt - now is that time! These
animals need your help, and they need it now!

Please visit us 7 days a week, between 12-6pm to meet your new best
friend. If you'd like to contact me, please e-mail my work account
([email protected]), but understand that I intend to
be very busy over the next 10 days, and may not be able to answer you
promptly.

That whole story was so sad -- the shelter being shut down by the SPCA for not euthanatizing sick animals. Overzealousness on both counts -- the shelter and the SPCA.

Rescue politics run rampant all over the place, it so sad they can't work out their differences.

A letter was sent around by email yesterday to reassure everyone that the animals in question will be moved to other OSPCA's in the area...there will be no wholesale euthanasia of any of the animals...rabbits or other!
