Ok, it was right as county fair was beginning and we were gone a lot.We left him with my mom most of the weekend but then during the week he was home cause we weren't gone as much.

Hubby came home one evening from work and we were still at the fairgrounds. He got his shower, ate and went to bed. I got a phone call; "Why is there a (**$&*(#$&#@ kitten in Lexi's room?!?!"

We told him it was going outside, blah blah..... yeah right.....

Last night while he was playing "get the fingers" with the kitten yet again........

he informed me that "Diesel needs to get declawed soon"...... That means in our house "Diesel is staying inside, get him declawed."

:biggrin2:Hubby loves that kitten for some reason! Probably cause he harasses my bunnies! :X

Awww I am glad he likes him. But then again, we all saw that coming didn't we? ;)How could he not love him? :p

On another note, you really want to declaw? Don't worry, I respect it. I'm just asking if you had considered other options :)Houdina isn't declawed.

I know you probably don't want to get into it, but can't you just keep his claws cut short? We just got Tibi on Friday and had all his claws tipped before leaving his foster mom's house...and I still don't have a scratch on me. I keep Juju's claws cut, too. I only have to cut their claws about every week and a half to two weeks. It doesn't cause them any pain to just keep cutting their nails.

Men.. burnt cookies on the outside but melted chocolate on the inside.:biggrin2:

With 4 out of 5 cats having their claws here our futniture isn't really important. Mind you it's like 3rd hand furniture but I can understand the reasoning behind it.

Like everyone else has said have you looked at other options? Soft Claws, nail trims, scratching posts rubbed with catnip, Sticky Paws ect?

"Catch the finger" is a bad game, it encourages clawing and biting to things like fingers and toes. Cute now won't be later as kitty gets bigger and stronger. Best to nip that in the bud now. And if your deadset on declawing please get it done by laser! it's much easier on the cat when done that way instead of the old fashioned way.

Hey... where are the pictures of said kitty anyway? Hmm?

:biggrin2: That reminds me of how we got our first "barn" cat. My sister and I were told absolutely no cats in the house. On the first cold rainy day of fall my dad let "the poor cat" in while we were all out. He was a house cat from that point on.

Yep, we went through this conversation when we first got him. We'll declaw. That is even more certain now that we've caught him sitting on the bunny cages and swatting at them. Bo was breathing hard and terrified one time and we aren't sure but he could be the cause of Tony's eye problem.

I've always had cats - since i was a little kid - and I've always had them declawed. He'll be fine.

Pardon the weird red-eye thing..... he's got blue eyes and they flash gold.

"Get the fingers" isn't good but then again, this kitten is a wild thing! He has always been real aggressive in playing..... his mom is the same.

Meh, get the fingers isnot that badas long as you keep it under control. My dad plays real rough with his cat and then he whines when she slices him open :pBut then they both go right back at it. They both enjoy it really... Nutters... He tries it with mine but my cat knows better and it's so funny to watch her look at me with her big eyes like "can I mom can I?" :pGotta love em cats. Does yours like to play tag?

Oh yeah.

We had a cat when I was a teenager that played hide and go seek. No lie. He would hide and we would find him. Then we would hide and he would find us! If he couldn't find us, he would start crying. That wasa cool cat :)

Tank, our mainecoon, is just a lap cat. He will play, but he'd much rather sit in your lap, pur, make biscuts, and drool all over you. :?
