I know this is a long shot, as we have very few AZ members on the board, but...
I had a girl message me over myspace asking if I could take in a rabbit that her sister-in-law has. She said that they are sick of the rabbit and stuck him outside in a cage. They are currently waiting to find the rabbit a home, without much luck, so that they can get a cat.
The girl who messaged me, Amy, said that she really fears for the bunnies safety and she knows they aren't taking proper care of it. She also said that the rabbit could be being neglected. They want the rabbit gone.
I obviously REALLY, REALLY, REALLY can't take in another rabbit. Morgan is going to come home *hopefully* very soon from Peg's house, then we have Marlin and Brody here....then *hopefully* Mallory and Madilyn coming home in the spring.
I could possibly take the rabbit in for a week or two's time if someone on the forum wanted to have the rabbit flown to them. I am also willing to get Ryan to drive a ways....if you live in another state for a bunny train.
Keep in mind, it is only $85+tax, $25 (or so) for a health certificate, $30 (or less) for a carrier) to fly the rabbit to you. Well worth it to save the rabbit's life.
I have no information on the rabbit. I don't know what gender it is, how old it is, ect. I know it probably isn't spayed/neutered. I have a vet here that charges $85 for a neuter and $99 for a spay. We could get that done here before going to your home.
I don't want to have to take the rabbit from her and bring it to the shelter in Phoenix, because it will most likely be put to sleep on the spot.
So, can anyone, at all, help out this poor rabbit before it suffers a sad death left in a cage outside...all because the family now wants a cat?
