since my cage is longer, i dont have a lot of linolium so i tiny part of my floor shows. do they sell rugs that a rabbit cant chew but also has traction since the ground is slippery and that's the whole reason i designed this cage so he could run laps. its a nic cage. could anyone post pics of there nic cage with a rug flooring or something cheap and has traction? where can i get rugs that are cheap?

Check Home Depot for the Indoor / outdoor rug ends. It doesn't have backing and has a very tight pile which makes it hard for buns to get hold of. I used to use it for flooring, but my new girl did manage to dig through it. Was fairly cheap though like $16-$20 for a 6' x 8'

:yeahthat: This is what we started with (the green one); you have to get carpet tape to keep it secure on both ends, but it worked well. We switched to cheap linoleum for easier clean up eventually and made sure we keep soft beds and hay filled litter boxes in there though. They don't have an issue with traction.

Don't stuff the carpet in the washing machine! It will melt the back of it so it will become winkled and floppy. It will also get stained with the backing so it'll look like it's covered in urine stains. Epic fail on my part. This contributed to switching flooring too. Whoooops.

Before (the only picture I have on hand. Let me know if you want better ones to go off of!):

Couldn't you use sandpaper on the linoleum to give it enough traction?

If my husband came home to me stooped over on my hands and knees sandpapering our linoleum he'd probably ship me off to the nearest psych-ward. :panic:

Rubberband sandpaper on the bottom of your shoes & walk it scruffy. And stop before your husband is expected home. Anyway, this is a linoleum sheet that would otherwise be thrown away.
