I wanted to hear if there are anyone that breeds French Loops i Red??

I come from Denmark, and we dont have them in that color here, i've been looking high and low.

I've desited to try to breed the New Zealand Red whit French loop, to se if i can get the red color on to the french loops. Is there anyone else that have tryed this??

Hi Bettina :)

Do you know if the red colour may be called orange as well? Or are they two different colours?

BlueSky, I believe she's tryingto breeda Red New Zealand (they come in black, red and white.. not just the regularwhite colour!) to a French lop. I bet Pamnock would know about the genetics and if they would work with the mixing.

So you're trying to breed New Zealand whites to a red French Lop or?? I'm confused by that part.

Emily

I think she meant she's going to breed a New Zealand red "with" a French Lop to bring in the red color.

Some people in the US were working on Royal Red Satin Lops a while back - they were a stunning breed, but I haven't heard anything about them recently. Red Satins were used for the red color.

True red is a genetic wide band color where the rabbit should actually appear to be a self red color rather than have white agouti markings like the orange. The only difference is the recessive "ww" wideband gene.

Hi

You mean French Lop right?

Sorry, im not a good speller.. *S*

Thanks for the websites, they a the first i've seen whit Red french lops.

I've bought a pair of New Zaland Red, and will try to se if i can get that color on to the french lops. I know it will take alot of generations, but i think it would be a fantastik color on a french lop.

A could only amagin what it would look like in Satin... wow.. Next projekt ..hehe..
