In another week, when Daisy goes in for recheck from her spay. They said I could rebond Daisy and Rascal then. How would I go about doing this?

Daisy and Rascal have been next to each other in their cages the whole time they've been seperated(2 months). They groom and lick each others faces. Do you think I can just put them back together? Since their still close to each other. They just have a wall seperating them.

Thanks :)....April

I would treat it just like regular bonding. Put them together in a neutral territory, with water bottle ready just in case. See how they do. If all goes well, let them stay together (with your supervision) for some time... maybe an hour? Do this several times a day for several days. Gradually increase the time they are together. I really wouldn't rush things. Rabbit fights can be aweful, and set you back in bonding. Take your time, and be really confident that they are o'kay in each others' presence, before you keep them together permanently.

Best of luck!!!

Welcome... hope it goes well. If they are licking each other thru the bars, sounds like they'll be great friends in no time!!!

Pics would be great!!! :blushan:

April,
I had to rebond my bunny's and am working on rebonding them for the 3rd time due to surgeries. I do like Sandra stated and just start from the beginning. The first time I tried to rebond I figured they would remember each other and I was soooo wrong. They fought pretty bad so be prepared just like you would as if it was the first time they met. If all goes well you can move faster or slow down. It will depend on how the first few bonding sessions go.

Did you bond your bunny's the first time? Do you have a neutral place you can start bonding them? I have used the bath tub and it works well. I have also used the bathroom floor and used an exercise pen to bond them.

Good luck.

Yes, they were bonded as babies when I brought them home. They still know each other cause they groom each other thru the cage.

I will take it slow. Prob go in the bathroom(bath tub) They share a NIC cage, I just have a wall put up to split cage in half.

Thanks.

That is a good sign they are grooming thru the cage. Mine would grunt and ludge at the cage. So it sounds like you might have an easy time bonding them. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks, I will. :)I have another week. It's hard to be patient. LOl. I may start a couple days slowly before her appt. She is fine. No complications from spay.

I have a Daisy also.

After she was spayed I separated her from Penn (Penny) her companion for a couple months (next to each other but separated)
When I rebonded them Penn would go up to her and sniff her and then bite her in the butt. You could tell that she smelled different after the surgery and he was confused. he never fought with her but he did pick on her nastily for awhile and I agree with the others to go slow as your Daisy will also have a different scent ...

Your avatar bunnies are cute! :)I'll take it slow in a neutral area with Daisy and Rascal, to be on the safe side. I wasn't sure how to rebond them, but now I have an idea. Thanks! :biggrin2:

Thanks everyone!! :thanks:
