I just need to vent about my unhappiness.
So we moved into our new house last weekend. During the two weeks before that, I was gradually moving things in so it wasn't so much of a rush at the end. I was still pretty hurried, and Jason was only barely helping me.
Somewhere along the way, I managed to break the lcd screen on my cell phone. The glass front is fine, but the display is black with multi-color lines, and is completely unviewable. It still makes and receives calls, but is otherwise useless. As in, if someone calls and leaves a message, I won't know because I can't see the message telling me I have voice mail.
Someone keeps texting me, even though I put on my Facebook page that my phone is broken. (I can just see the lower corner of the box that comes up to tell me I have a message.)
I am pretty sure my phone is out of warranty, but I'm not eligible for an upgrade discount until October. Thanks to moving expenses, I cannot afford to pay full price for a phone. (Again, I've been the one to cough up the cash for many of the things we need for the house, even though Jason makes more money than I do.)
Ordered a new lcd off eBay, and installed it this evening. Pretty sure I did everything correctly, but the new screen is all black. There's light around the edges, so the backlight is working, but nothing on the screen.
So I'm just really upset right now. Not sure how I'm going to manage with no phone for the next 3 months. We do not have (and do not want) a home phone. I guess I'd be fine as long as I was actually carrying my phone, but my work does not allow cell phones, so there's a huge chunk of time when I could miss a phone call.
