hi all

lucy has an appointment at the vets tomorrow for her vhd

im alittle concerned as she has devoloped quite a large dewlap or i dont no if it is or not

can girl rabbits still get them if they are not breeding

varna xxxx

They sure can, most females do get them fromwhat I've seen....My female mini lop really doesn't have one...but myFlemish that was born in March is already developing one!

I wouldn't worry. Amber, who was spayed in late July, has a fairly sizeable one.

lucy has been for her vhd injection

mentioned about her dewlap thing and he said it was just pure fat

so we are bk to the rabbit weight watchers hehe

her greens are fine and her herbs its just we have to cut her pellets down by half

It is common for most females to have them.

It is not a sign that they are overweight either.

If you look under my home thread Zee's Zany Zoo, you can see Lop with one huge dewlap.

Poppy is just over a year old, and i can see the start of a dewlap on her.

I wouldn't be worried though, it's quite normal.
