As my two boys have matured into adulthood, I've found they developed odd sounds that they make as they do certain things. For instance, they used to drink water (from a bowl) in total silence, but lately when they do I've noticed a very audible "glooob glub glub" gut sound that makes me worry they're ingesting air. They've never had GI problems, but it's a recent development and I'm scared it might lead to one.

Also when one of them gets excited, say over the scent of pellets, he makes a wuffling, almost wheezing breathing noise. I know big bunnies might wheeze a bit, but these are 5-6 lb minilops. They aren't even chubby or anything.

Are these things anything to worry about?

I don't know about the drinking sounds, but the sounds that they are making when they are eating are normal :) sometimes bunnies "honk" when they get excited! My bun does this over pellets and he did before he was neutered whenever he would circle my feet.

My American White male makes sounds whenever he is excited! Usually over being let out and pellets, he makes a quiet grunting noise. When he wants to be petted and I'm not paying attention, he thumps once and grunts. He also sneezes and makes a loud wheezy noise that doesn't have anything to do with air intake problems but with sniffing! The "wheeze" is really a snuffle. :D

Pudden whines. Yes rabbits whine, and it just breaks your heart to hear it. Also rabbits scream. As for the sounds you are hearing, they are normal. If you are really worried, you can always get them checked by a vet. Popping noise while they breathe is not normal. You can check their lungs by placing your ear against their side where their lungs are, if you hear cracking take them to the vet.
