I dont get it and it is becoming very frustrating. By buns have no interest in breeding. The boys will perk up for about 5 seconds and then they call it quits. The doe just lays there uninterested. I have tried for months now and Im seriously all out of ideas.......what else canI do???

have you tried swapping their cages? I've heard that helps. I usually take an inexperienced buck with a proven doe that's receptive and a proven buck that works with unproven does to get them to lift. Have you also tried putting him on her butt?
I can't think of much else to try. I've never had this kind of problem.
I had a velveteen lop buck that wouldn't breed and it didn't take long for the velveteen doe to like her male buddies, a few days together and Cater loved the mini lop buck i put her in with.
As for the buck, we thoguht he was gay, i loved female humans, got along with young bucks even though he was fully dropped.

I have them in seperate cages right now (switched) hoping that will help. I have tried manually putting him on top of her, I have tried table breeding, I have tried patience...which is wearing very thin. They are both inexperienced but even when I put her in with my other proven buck they just lay next to each other like best friends. I have all friendship in my rabbitry...no romantic love lol.

Have you checked her privates to make sure that she's most receptive to breeding on that day?

I also have done something that most breeders would look down at - but I will put a buck in an exercise pen and let him get used to it - and then put the doe in and let her run around for a bit.

To some of the rabbits - its what they would do in the wild and it makes them more receptive.

Of course - I'm there the whole time!

Yes, I check but it seems like shes never receptive, her "girly parts" are always pale white. Im going to try again today as Ive switched their cages for the night so we'll see. Thanks Peg, I will try that next. =(

I deal with this all the time, it is frustrating. I found putting two does together and letting them hump each other, if they bite or attack I seperate, helps. Can also let bucks smell each other. But I have had many does that would just NEVER breed, also had a few bucks that way.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble getting your bunnies in the mood. I have no real suggestions for you but maybe you could try Barry White and candles? :)

:laugh:Ill try that next. Its my last resort.

nothing worked yet? WOW. I've never seen two more determined to not be interested bunnies in my life. I know Montana's not interested, we traded Angel(Montana's mother) because Rae nor I could get her to breed, but Gerard did and I brought her back to my place, got one litter from her and not a one of us has been able to get another litter out of her

I mean i've done it before, not highly recommended but, Have you tried leaving them together for a couple of days? I had to do that with Skye the first time, left them together for almost a week before she would let him get on her. Some fur got lost in that mission, but nothing major(and not alot of fur)
