i have a guinea pig right now. im not planningon keeping a rabbit and my guinea pig in the same cage but i waswondering if it is ok if i let them hang out sometimes together. i hearit said both ways. some say its bad some say its good.

As long as they get along it's not really a hugeproblem. Make sure neither have any illnesses as some can betransferred. Also, be sure the rabbit won't play rough as a well placedkick can kill a guinea pig. I also wouldn't let them alone together.Supervised play is a must.

I allowed Bunny and our two guinea pigs to hangout together one time. Our male piggie, Cinnamon, almosttried to hump Bunny so I decided not to let them play togetheranymore. I broke it up before the badhappened. Bunny wasn't too concerned but I was afraid Bunnywould kick Cinnamon. Plus, a piggie and rabbit is justwayyyyy too messed up. ewwww. :disgust:

It is too risky. I would not and donot let the rabbit be with the guinea pigs. Some rabbit, asfar as I understand, can carry pasteurella or bordatella withoutshowing outward symptoms. The guinea pigs could get this andbecome very sick quickly.

Also, the rabbit could easily hurt the pigs. I have a rabbitand two pigs and it is really tempting to let them play together and itmight be very cute. However, if something were to happen, I'dnever forgive myself and I dont want to live with that.

Hope this helps
