We just had our 6 month old female spayed hoping it would help stop the chewing. But, unfortunately she wont stop chewing on everying except for her toys. She has plenty of toys in her cage, yet chews on carpet, floor boards, wires, shoes...

Any adice?

Have you tried cardboard? My rabbits love cardboard. Maybe she would chew on that instead. I keep it inside and outside of their cage.

You could also give her a smaller area to play in. I have a x-pen attached to my NIC cage so the buns don't have full run of the house. There is too many things the bunnie's could eat or chew. Lol.

Have you tried tunnels? Cottage Houses ormazes?

Good Luck :)

 Sorry but that is what they do! they need to chew as their teeth keep growing; best if you can find something (daily) to distract them - a new box is good; an occasional alfafa chunk (buy them at Petco - throw them to Baxter! to get a good chew in) and/or just "cordon off" whatever area it is that they are trying to destroy.

If its the flooring in the pen I went to Home Depot and bought the cheapest linoliuem tile flooring and laid it over the carpet and then put throw rugs down on it and his pen sits on top of this.. Buns are curious and social - they do not like to be bored - even a paper bag is good fun (old paper towel tubes are good, etc..).. Might just want some more attention from you..

Good luck and let me know if you find the "thing" that interests her.
