Can someone give me some names of the bestrabbit vets in the United States. Actually, this persondoesn't even have to have a degree. I want to talk to someonewho wants to do some research and treat a rare bacteria.

Lissa, your best bet may not even be trying toget in touch with vet research....just try and contact regularmicrobiology offices/labs........(sorry if this part upsets anyone) butmost research work is done on animals and if they already have theirwork published or copyrighted they will be more than happy to shareyour info with you . this will be particularly helpful b/c you will beable to find out what medicines didnt have lethal inteactions with theanimals or you will find out dosgaing all that stuff.

another problem you will encounter in your search is that ppl justplain dont want to share b/c they have no way of knowing your are notanother scientist trying to steal their research!

You can, but they probably are just a clinicthat does diagnostic testing.....you want to look for reasearch labs.preferrably smaller one b/c you will have an easier time talking tosomeone .. search local universities and stuff ..professors are alwaystrying to get their work noticed ... or you make spark an area ofresearch for another

That idea has crossed my mind a lot. It's just finding a lab that wants to do the work that would be achallenge...especially finding some place nearby. Is there anonline source for finding a research lab?

If you are really looking for someone to pick upthe area of research contacting universities or colleges is your bestbet.....it doesnt matter how far away they are.. they are able to getthat bacteria shipped to them .. and if they need a sample of Iszy'sgunk they will send you the necessary stuff to collect and mail out aspecimen. and if they want Izsy there that is for you to decide and youshould them demand a portion of their grant money to cover some of yourtravel costs etc.

and even if that university cant help you, you can ask what labs theyknow of in the area that do the same research. youre gonna have tounfortunately play the phone tag game ...

internet isnt going to bring up anything really except big corporatereasearch companies (not to say it wont bring up private companies)...if you search their site and see they are doing some microbiologywork you can try e-mailing the head scientist and they may e-mail youback.

I called the lab that did the culture onIszy. They told me that I should be talking to myvet. :? I will again get in contact with UW-Madisonand talk to someone in the microbiology department.
