Rabbit story online

I've not been lurking very long and this is my first post. I hope this doesn't break any rules.
I read a sweet story about a rabbit and thought I would share the link.

In the comments for the story, a reader criticized the story. The reader has night droppings confused with fecal pelets. Maybe somebody that can delicately explain the difference (not me!) could set the record straight. The author does seem to know what night droppings are, but dances around the topic.
