Funny how they breed to prolifically when they're not supposed to.
I'm not a breeder, but I know there is a 'down' time when they just don't breed, and its usually winter, maybe around this time.
But sometimes some rabbits just don't make good mothers, their kits always die, and its best not to try again.
If you think they may have mated, the best time to feel for babies is between 10 and 14th days after they mated. After 14 days, it's much harder.
At 10 days they'll feel like berries, and at 14 days more like grapes. You have to distinguish the budding babies from poop (which is really hard and small) and their kidneys (only one on each side, deeper and closer to the backbone).
A lot of people will say put the male back in the female after 14 days and if she growls and tells him to get lost, she's probably already pregnant, but others say this isn't a good idea because they can actually get pregnant again and carry two litters at once which can cause problems.
Here's the best article on how to palpate to check for babies.
Let us know how it goes!
