Hi,

Our bunny Apple went to the vet recently and was diagnosed with having a mild GI Stasis. They gave us Urgent Care and we fed that to her throughout the day yesterday as instructed. Before, she was very lethargic and grinding her teeth. Now she's very much herself and walking around. However, she refuses to eat any of her hay and barely eats her cilantro. She only seems to want pellets (I haven't given her any as I don't want her to get blockages again.) And she's also licking EVERYTHING in the house--furniture, the stones on the fireplace, which tells me maybe she's lacking nutrients. She keeps sniffing the floor and walking around like she's trying to find something.

What should I do? Her behavior has mostly turned to normal but I don't know how to get her to eat hay again.

Thank you!

(just realized i probably should have posted this to behavior and diet! first post sorry )

I would add some pellets back into her diet because those are full of nutrients. She seems to be doing fine now, so the best thing would be for her to start eating again. You could make the hay more interesting by putting it in toilet paper tubes, or sprinkling dried herbs in it.

Did your vet do a thorough dental exam to make sure that wasn't the cause of the stasis in the first place?
