How often should you get your rabbits nails cut? We had our rabbits cut when she got spade last Dec. Last weekend she cut her self and she was bleeding by her nail. I was wondering if they are too long and maybe it got caught on the carpet when she ran up the stairs. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Yes, it has been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long. Every rabbit is different when it comes to cutting nails because some are more active than others and some get to dig, etc....but as an estimate, cut them about once a month.

:yeahthat

You should at least check them every month or more often.

I have one bunny that needs clipping every 4-6 weeks. However I have another bun that can go for almost 3 months.

I kind of go by the rule that if the nail is 1/4" or less past the cuticle it is ok, but any longer than that will need to be clipped.
