Not sure if this is posted in the right place, if not im sorry. If a mod can move it to the correct area, Id appreciate that :)
I just bought my bunny 2 days ago and when I got him, I noticed he was shedding HORRIBLY and the lady said he was molting.
What exactly is molting? And when will he stop doing it?
His fur is literally coming out in chunks and it seams thin, is this normal?
He is shedding so bad that his cage has fur all over in it! I want it to stop! lol..how much longer will this go on?

Moulting is normal. It is when the rabbits shed out the old coat and grow a new one. The moult from the winter to spring coat is really bad as they are going from a thick winter coat to a thinner spring coat.
How long a moult lasts depends on a few factors. The temperature where you are can make a difference. Diet can also be a factor as well as the individual rabbit.
You should brush him to help get rid of the fur as it is not good for them to ingest too much. Some people use de shedding brushes for cats and dogs, others use a lint roller. You can try to pull out the loose fur, but be careful that you don't pull too much.

Rabbits shed every 3 months.

The best thing to do is to get a pet grooming kit and brush excess hair. off. If you do that every week the shedding issue would be as bad.
