Hey, guys. I noticed today for the 1st time that my rabbit was grinding his teeth when he was bathing. Idk if that’s the right term but what it looked like was just like if he was chewing something. He did it twice for a few seconds then just continued to bathe then he rolled onto his back and he just laid there. The second time he was bathing and then sat there for a bit then just started biting his ball and then stretched and yawned and laid down again. Is this bad or no? This is the only times I’ve seen him do it. He’s been eating, sleeping, laying down, drinking water and pooping. I don’t see any problems. I just noticed that it looked like he was chewing something is all. I didn’t hear any LOUD LOUD noises coming from his mouth. I just saw him do it.

It sounds like normal contented tooth purring or tooth chattering. My rabbits will do it when being petted, when sleeping, when sitting there. It could also be they have a bit of food left over or stuck in their mouth that they are chewing on.

Tooth grinding from pain will be accompanied with other symptoms of pain and discomfort like lethargy, sitting hunched up and reluctant to move, belly pressing, lack of appetite, frequently changing positions, eye squinting, trembling.

I appreciate you telling me this. I was starting to get worried but this made me feel better. I was trying to tell myself he was fine but after losing a pet you’re never the same lol Thank you! :)
