Rabbit Fun Day

As many of you know I'm a 4-H member working toimprove the knowledge of rabbits in our area. Our County Rabbit barn isin dire need of attention and several renovations and a group of uswould like to do it. We've come up with the idea to hold a "rabbit funday" with workshops such as 1. Judging the different types of rabbits2. Wool and its uses 3. Palpation and Genetics 4. Meat, Fur andExhibition. A minimum donation would be charged to get in and theprocedes would go to renovating the barn. Are there any ideas as to howto make this idea even better?

Pam- (I know you're out there) Would you possibly be interested inteaching one of the classes, I'm sure we could give you something inreturn for it. We'd be greatly appreciative if you would. The dateisn't set yet and this really isn't engraved in stone...... it's justan idea.

Good luck!! I know I can't help (no creativity)but I hope you get enough money for your barn... Could you do agrooming table? Like groom the bunnies or dogs or something? NOTCREATIVE AT ALL BAD IDEA!!

Just an idea what about if you are expecting "little ones" to comealong as well, if you have a craft table or something set up and theycould make bunny ears or even if you know someone who is crafty theycould make up some bunny pictures or pottery etc and you could sellthem ???

Mmmmm I'll keep thinking for you and see what else I come up with,,,,,

A bunny raffle???? The prize could be bunny items, hay pellets some toys etc gift wraped into a basket?

Whoa, both of you have great ideas. I hadn'teven thought of either of them. That would serve as an incentive forsome more people to come and I think that it would be pretty cool.Thanks for your ideas.

It's possible -- Depending on my schedule. Someof the presentations I've done have been on judging, showmanship,diseases, genetics, tattooing, fur types and body types.

Grooming and such is always a good workshop todo . I am also doing a rabbit Ethics Workshop on Saturday and we'regoing to cover things like new rabbit showmanship, What to use whengrooming, Different Diseases, What the Rabbits are Judged on, andJudging Meat Pens. Depending on how many show up to this first meetingwe will decide whether or not we should host more of these meetingsthis summer. Thank you all
