I am currently trying to locate good rabbit food for when we get our bunny. I prefer being able to pick it up over having it shipped. No where in my area seems to carry the brand that the breeder uses.

Has anyone heard or used NatureWise by Nutrena? I checked the website but it does not give you a rundown such as crude fiber, protein, etc. or the listing of ingredients.

Is the breeder local? You can ask them where they get it. Some breeders do order large amounts, you could ask to buy from them.
Unfortunately, not all feeds are available in all areas. This does mean you will have to find a suitable food that you can get. Breeders should give you some food to transition the rabbit to the new food. You can also try asking to buy a bit more of the food if you want more to transition.
To find a food, try calling some local feed stores and ask what brands they carry for rabbit food. You can then look up the brand and see if your think it is suitable. Also ask the price and how much they sell. If they sell a lot, the product should be fresher compared to if they don't sell a lot. Some pet stores might have larger bags as well, so it can't hurt to ask. Smaller pet stores might be able to order stuff for you, but it will depend on the product and if they can get it a bag or 2 at a time.

Looks like Kate alreadygave you some really good info. I had to problem finding food for my first rabbits (breeder did give me a supply), but my two lionheads were on Manna Pro (thankfully again supplied with pellets). I could only find25 to 50 lb bags.Guideline is to have only a months supply of pellets because they can go moldy or get stale and bunnies don't like stale. Got a good lead on Oxbox for Young Rabbits and I can get fresh supplies at the Pet store I go to. Just my experience.

I'd be leery of a product that doesn't give the ingredients or analysis. You can slowly switch to a brand that does, like Oxbow or Kaytee.

Thanks for the tips. The breeder does not live close enough to buy from where she does or to purchase food from her. I know she will give a weeks supply of her food when I pick the bunny up.

I have been calling everywhere around that sells feed as well as looking at the local pet stores. I am trying to find food that is as good for the bun as I can. The brand I asked about I looked up online after learning one feed store nearby carries it. Online it does not give specific ingredients or such. I will run by the feed store and see if the information is printed on the bag. If not I won't buy it or if it does not have the right ingredients and percentages.
