Well, i just discovered that my rabbit has brownish looking crusts & red cuts/sores in her ear. I'm pretty sure it is ear mites.
I've did research and i found almond oil, mineral oil, olive oil, baby oil, and a shot can treat ear mites.
Is it a fact?
I have olive oil, and if you have tried, i would like to know what type of oil.
The economy sucks, so i don't have the money for a shot :(

Or if you have any solutions, please post them.

We always recommended the use of mineral oil. I never had any of my rabbits get them, but I know that the miticide I got from our vet for our cats and dog was mineral oil based, too.

To treat it, you'll want to use a cotton ball to clean out the ear as best you can, put a few small drops of oil in the ear and massage the base of the ear. The rabbit WILL shake its head afterwards, but it doesn't hurt anything. Repeat twice a day until it clears up (this will take longer than with a miticide because all you're doing is drowning the mites rather than poisoning them). You might also be able to find an OTC miticide at some place like WalMart or Petco.
