I have a 1 1/2 year old mix who LOVES to eat. I've had him for about 3 months now and I had him on a steady diet of timothy hay, veggies and Sweat Meadow Timothy Pellets. Last week we moved to a new home and I am trying to slowly transition him to Kaytee Timothy Pellets.

Normally he jumps up and down for food and runs in circles but ever since I began mixing a little of the new pellets in with the old he barely eats them and is very obviously eating only some of the old pellets. He bowels are very normal, he has been eating plenty of hay and otherwise is a very happy bunny.

The only thing I can think of is that the new pellets have a much stronger odor. I've only been trying for about 3 days but I bought a huge bag and I don't know if I should give up and try another brand or keep at it.

Any advice?

Thanks so much,
Emily

Why not stick with the pellets hes used to and he already likes?

Funny story actually: before I was buying from a locally owned shop so I assumed I would not be able to find them again because it seemed like a local brand. Out of curiosity I visited the website and I was completely wrong and even found out that a shop down the street actually sells the brand.

So alas, I was worried for nothing and should probably find out a way to delete this post.

Most stores are nice enough to accept opened returns when you say your pet doesn't like the food. Just bring the new stuff back and im sure King will be quite pleased to keep his favourite kibble :)

Welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately I bought the new pellets from PetSmart. Dealing with a huge chain is always less than fun to deal with but it is definitely worth a shot.

Thank you! :D

Petsmart, well up here anyway, is really good for returns. I recently exchanged a lightbulb without a receipt i bought a few months ago, and they didn't care. Though... When we returned about 30$ worth of canned dog food (when our eldest dog died) they could only give us our money back in cash, not debit (just how their computers work) :p Hopefully petsmart down there is as good as the stores up here, their all american owned so it should be the same. So long as you have your receipt, and just say your bun doesn't like them, it should be a breeze.
