Whisper has been running the bunny 500 everymorning at 5:30 (her own exersize schedule?) in her cage. Needless tosay, it is summer, I enjoy sleeping in, and he laps in her cage keep meup. It would be fine during school time because I have to get up atthat time to get ready, but not when it interferes with my sleep. Shealso has been digging at the cage floor, and there is nothing there, just the plastic from the bottom.

Any ideas on stopping this? Or should I just live with it? She is letout everyday for supervised play time, and he nails are trimmedregularly

She sounds happy to me. I don't thinkthere's any way of really stopping it. As for the digging, you could give her something to dig into. Grass mats aregreat, and you can find them pretty cheap. The digging isinstinctual and possibly hormonal, and nail clipping doesn't haveanything to do with it.

Don't try to stop her - she's just having somegood exercise. Have you tried wearing earplugs to bed? I had to whenmine were in my room.

My monkeys are the same!

They dig, throw thier bowls, whip thier toys, chew the bars, and tip thier litter boxes... and if I sleep in, UHOH!

I think it's just a way to get you in the room. I ignore mine, as Iknow they are fine! Thier nails are cut every month, and they've got agazillion toys each! Plus they each have MASSIVE cages!:disgust:

They have PLENTY of free run time, as I work from home, and school fromhome. They get on average, 6-8hrs of free run time a day! So when theyare in thier cage, I think they look at as, Why do I have to be inhere?:dunno:

but I tell yah' when I hear them trying to get me out of bed, I just roll over now, and continue:sleep:!

Okay so its a happy thing? I guess I can bearit. Im wondering that when I make her cage bigger with cubes she willbe running up and down the ramps as her aerobic exersize:runningrabbit: :race:

She does have plenty to dig. You should see the inside of her chube. The poor thing didn't last it's first night

Hi Malo,

Rabbits naturally most active times are at dusk and dawn.

Tucker used to do that with me, and I'd ignore him. It took a littlewhile, but he eventually became accustomed to my schedule and lives byit. Now you can't get the bum up before 7:00.

Like Tucker, Sampson used to get me up early inthe morning, but he too has adjusted to my schedule. He onlymakes noise now if he's out of food.

I can sometimes hear the other buns or my ferrets from the critter roomdown the hall. They are always up early throwing toys ordishes. I'm almost always up early, because the dog getswalked every morning, but if I'm wanting more sleep, I'll get up for alittle bit and let thenoisy buns play then go back to sleepor take a nap.
