So Ollie, my 7 month old rabbit, has apparently became an escape artist. This morning, the top of his cage was knocked off, and he was hopping around on the ground. Obviously I do need to take care of this, by adding zip ties to the cage.

However, it was just brought to my attention that there were green beans from my family's garden that was left out last night. My rabbit escaped this morning, and the green beans are no longer there. Presumably he ate them... Are green beans okay for rabbits? They were sprayed with some sort of pesticide, I think... As of now he's eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom as normal. Should I be concerned about him eating them or no?

I'd be only a little bit concerned. Maybe they may give him gas or mushy poo. I would get some infant gas medication, infacol, just incase it gives him gas. Infacol is a good thing to have on hand anyway incase your bunny ever gets gas.

I think green beans are on the do not feed lists because they are too high in protein and too rich for rabbits. But I don't think they are toxic or anything. But since it sounds like he ate a lot of them and he's never had them it might upset his stomach, but I don't think he's in that much danger.

I would just make sure he has lots of water and maybe cut back his pellets a little because they are also high in protein, and give him extra hay to clear out his system.

I agree with encouraging him to eat hay and cutting out any sugary treats or greens that you might currently be feeding for a day or two just to keep him system moving well. Since it's morning, who knows how long it's been since he ate them, but a day or two of observation and you should know whether there's any adverse affects.
