Hi,
I got my rabbit, Ash an American chinchilla rabbit a few months back and I recently found out about harnesses for rabbits, and I've decided to buy one for my rabbit but I don't know which kinds are best for this kind of breed. If you happen to have any info on this matter than please reply.

Some rabbits won't take kindly to a harness. Others freak out in fear when put in a scary new outdoor situation. Others are ok. Just be aware that it can go either way. And of course, you don't walk a rabbit, it justs meanders wherever it well pleases and you comply. :biggrin2:

When introducing a bun to a harness, just make sure to take it slow and have a few sessions without any kind of leash or anything, just to be safe and give your bun time to adjust :)

You want an H style harness that is fairly snug but you can still get a finger between them and the loops. One like the one my beautiful Tia is wearing here is good. You can pick them up cheap at Wal-Mart.

DO NOT get a figure 8 style harness, they are NOT safe for bunnies!

I also would not recommend a mesh vest style either, a lot of people have had problems with them slipping out of them. They also seem quite confining and uncomfortable, but they aren't dangerous unless the rabbit slips out.

I got mine in the cat section of walmart, much cheaper than going to petsmart or something
