I quit. Yes it was stupid and rash. But I had my reasons. I think when the paperwork and deadlines become more important than giving quality services to consumers than it is time to leave. I was there for a little over 3 months. I figured I would stay until I found something I really wanted.

I also had an issue with the training or lack there of that they gave me. It really impacted on my ability to do the job the way they wanted. There were other reasons but I'll keep those to myself.

I've been sending out resumes and making some contacts with staffing agencies. There is some interest but social work license is inactive due my inability to pay the fee.

So now I'm stuck. I figure I would find something for the holidays that I hopefully won't get laid off after a week. I guess I just have to risk it. I'm going to hold off telling my parents this because I know they will disappointed but I'm an adult and I had my reasons. Besides I've already been fired twice this year and I couldn't deal with getting canned for a third time.

I just needed to get this off my chest. Thanks for reading.

Good for you! Doing the right thing is not always easy, but you'll sleep better at night.

I'm glad you stood up for yourself. Just wanted to mention that a lot of retailers keep on their holiday staff as year-round employees--something like 50% of seasonal hires are hired full time.
