Hello all! So I'm still a little new at all of this even though I've had my little girl since March now and I've got questions!

First of all, she sheds like crazy! Oh my goodness her hair is absolutely everywhere! I can litterally see it just sitting on her all the time. Now, I've looked around a lot for brushes and techniques but I wanted to know of any brushes that work best? Is there anything with her diet that can help? It's just crazy the amount of fur that is all over. And she's so ridiculously calm so if it means grooming her every day for a period of time that'd be no problem because she loves just sitting in our laps and being the center of attention!

The other thing is she digs like crazy! Now, I know this is in their nature but is there a reason why? I've tried giving her blankets or boxes or grass mats to dig on and she really just likes digging at the plastic bottom of her cage. Now since we've expanded her cage to a play pen during the day the digging has been cut down a lot because she used to dig all night long. Is there anything I can give her like scratching posts or something else that she may like to dig on?

And the post wouldn't be complete without a picture. =)

Just exploring...

She is sooo pretty! A lot of people say its easiest to just gently pluck the hair out rather than brush it. As for digging i got mine a cardboard cat scratcher from the dollar tree it is cardboard rolled up into a circle and they love it. Also i gave them an old book i was done with minus the cover and the time spent destroying it was time they weren't bothered to dig.

There is no reason to discourage digging. Just get her a dig box; a cardboard or hard plastic box containing paper she can tunnel in, dig etc to her heart's content.

She's so pretty! I love the blue eye! As for grooming, I just dampen my hands with water and rub all over the bunny. Then wipe my hairy hands on my pants and do it again. LOL You could substitute a towel for your pants, but this will get the loose stuff out really easily. :)

Also a blanky (fleece) would be a good dig toy. Mine dig around in their blanky before flopping over on it. They also dig the bare floor before laying down.

Honey sheds like crazy all of the time, too. Every day I'll sit next to him for fifteen minutes and just pull fur off of him, especially near his back-end...he loves it, lol. I find that just doing it with my hand is easier and gets more than a brush.

And I agree with everyone about digging--just provide her with things like blankets and areas that she's ALLOWED to dig, and she'll eventually get the idea. Every once in awhile I fill a big cat litter box with soil, but it on a sheet so dirt doesn't get everywhere on the rug, and let Honey go at it. It's one of his favorite things to do, but I can't leave it out all of the time or he decides it can be a litterbox :rollseyes
