This will be the first time I ever get any rabbit of mine fixed, I am very anxious, I called a rabbit savvy vet's office today, they told me about the procedure and the cost. I was told there would be a pre-op exam and that it would cost additional for some of the tests needed before Trix is deemed safe to go under ( ofcourse i am well aware of the risks of anesthetic for rabbits) Just wanted to know if getting an x-ray before hand was necessary because it is so costly, they told me it was so they can see if he has any fluid on his lungs as that would be a problem if he did as it could kill him. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?? of course I do want him to be as safe as possible before going under anesthetic, he is my precious fur baby. What can I expect when I go pick him up afterward?? I heard using a bunny heating pad will help as his temperature would be considerably lower post-op, I know I have to keep his gut moving, just really really nervous, dont want anything bad to happen to him!! could anyone tell me their stories ? thanks:tears2:
