my rabbit just had kits about sixk days ago andnow the are starting to grow in their fur and all five off them looklike the mother and the father but one is pure white i dont know whereit got the whit from because neither of the rabbit are white or haveany white in their fur.

but the babies are doing fine after the death of their brother/sister.the mom seems less frantic now and a lot more gentle. whenever i walkangel we go by where her baby is born so that she will know thateverything is alright.:D:D:D

The Allwhite Kit could have come fromeither the mother or the fater dependingon what is in their line , itsa case of someones mommy mayhave been an all white rabbit ,no worries its natural.

We'll know more as the kits get older and opentheir eyes. If they are pure white with pink eyes, they arealbino and *both* parents must carry the gene recessively.

ever since my little one died i have beenputting a flower on the poor little rabbits grave and my parents thinkthat i am crazy because i love animals. they are always saying howrabbits and other animals have no feelilngs but i beg to differ on thestatements they say.

but anyways i cant wait till tey open their eyes because it is so cutebecause they always are a little confused for a little while . it isalways looks like they are drunk:Dj/k

they are so healthy every morning when i wake up i check on them andthey have the fullest bellies you might have ever seen. what are thechances that i might have a albino rabbit??:p

My sister has a albino rabbit but it was from two white rabbits:)

I know what you mean, my parents think Iam nuts! Our house has a lot of animals and they "blame" it all on me:) But that’s ok I don’t mind being blamed for bringing in lovinganimals! :D

If only one or neither parent carries the albino gene, there would be a 0% chance that the baby is albino.

If both parents carry the gene, there is a 25% chance of an albino baby being born (1 out of 4).

Too funny!

The wooled gene is also recessive. It must be carried by bothparents to produce a wooled baby. The gene commonly pops upin lop breeds, and I've also seen wooled Beverens.

why do kits make sudden movements. because when i go outthere to check on them they will start to make suddenmovements.
Probaby because when you take the fur off them they get a little bit of a draft :)

"Burrrr can you please put the blanketback! "

They are just doing the chillydance!

Thanks Pam. how far back could the gene come from??
If both rabbits carry it, it would have beenpassed down theline since the gene mutation occured millions of years ago :)Recessive genes can remain "hidden" until they happen to be paired withanother rabbit carrying that same gene.
