I wanted to try it, i just bought a cross stitch that is stamped on it cause i cant do it with all the counting, lol, but i dont think i like it, thank god i got a little on,lol. But i have heard of punch needle and wonder if anyone has done it and do you like it?

Fran, I bought one of those little kits. I'm such a sucker for that kind of thing! I thought there was something wrong with my punch needle because it wasn't working properly, so I bought another one, but that didn't work well either. I don't know if it was operator error or what, but the thread just bunched up and the tip of the needle cut in half and stuff :( I even watched a couple videos on Youtube to learn the technique.

I love the idea of punch needle stuff, but I've gone back to counted cross stitch. Even though I'm a slow worker and mess up a lot by miscounting, I still enjoy it. I'm working on a really pretty kit I bought that has a bunch of butterflies.

I love sewing but i've never tried punch needle art. I like doing cross stitch and prefer doing the stamped ones but, I never know how to tell which ones are stamped and which are, especially when buying online lol!

havent tried this - yet! i have a larger needle that belonged to my grandmother and was used for rugmaking. the embroidery versions seem so fragile - i have enough trouble not breaking my felting needles. that said, i also do cross stitch and i do like the effect of the punch needle work.

another for the to do list!

Donna so sorry for adding more to your to do list, lol

I love the cross stitch but i dont think i am doing it right, and i dont think i am liking it. There are sssssssssoooooooooooooo many beautiful ones that i would love to do but i dont know if i would be able to finish, lol. I still have a latch hook rug that i have been doing for well over 10 years, lol!!!!!! i pick it up every few years and do a little more, lol

:rofl:i'll forgive you !! no rugs on the go here - have done one for each bedroom tho'. im currently sewing blocks for a quilt, think i've done about 8 or 9:? i tend to knit and crochet in the winter with the occasional bout of tatting. with dogs and buns anything that doesnt need a frame is good and easy to put out of nibbling reach.

my only UFO is a tapestry that im going to use to cover a footstool. daughter is 14 and i was doing it when i was carrying her.......

I've never done the Punch Needle art. I have done a few Cross-Stich with the help of mom of course :) I try to find the ones that don't change color every other count. Mom is a crafty person. She does a lot of needle work but I don't think she's done Punch Needle Art, I'll have to ask her.
