Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if rabbits can eat fresh pumpkin? I have heard ofpeople feeding bunnies pumpkin, but I could not find it on the rabbitsafe vegetable lists.

Thank you!

I actually asked this question not to long ago.lol I carve my own pumpkins and make pumpkin pie out of fresh pumpkinbut..As long as you've boiled the pumpkin meat, it should be fine. Idon't know if it would be a good idea to feed it to him straight fromthe pumpkin.

You might checksome of the pinned threads about diet and health. I haven't been inthose threads lately so I don't know what's posted. However, I can tellyou that in the past it has been the common practice among many of ushere to feed our bunnies canned pumpkin. The canned pumpkin apparentlygoes through some kind of process that makes it more suitable fordigestive purposes, though I honestly don't know what those are.

Don't use a sweetened or spiced pumpkin pie filling. Only pumpkin.

I know that it is reported to be veryhigh in fiber and many of us have used it in conjunction with otherfoods during the treatment of stasis.

I also know that many members give theirbunnies canned pumpkin on a regular basis simply as a source of fiber.Especially long haired bunnies.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much everyone! I'm glad I checked with you before feeding it to Rodney. I'll get the canned variety now.
