pulling fur?

:shock:i went to clean my 3yr old male lion head out this morning and he has been pulling out his fur:?he hasnt got any bald patches and i have checked him over for fleas, mites etc? he is housed in a 2 stack with elvis underneath him and 2 the side he is surrounded by males all in seperate cages. could this be the problem/ i do hope my bun isnt poorly

. please help guys

Do you know it is him pulling the fur out? Could he just be having a heavy moult? Sometimes clumps can fall out during a moult.

Is this fur being pulled from around his belly? If so, is he neutered? If not...are you sure he is a boy? Sounds stupid, but unspayed does can go through false pregnancies, where they go through all the motions of being pregnant, but just don't give birth. Lol I had to ask.

Lol I'm with Jen on this one. Are you positive it is a male? It's quite common for bunnies to be improperly sexed. My vet even made a mistake with one of my girls in the past. Have you seen him actually pull it out?

NO I HAVENT SEEN HIM PULL IT OUT. HES DEFINATLEY A BOY. TRUST ME LOL. NO HE ISNT NEUTURED. ITS LIKE CLUMPS. I SUPPOSE HE COULD BE MOLTING

HES VERY FLUFFY ANYWAY, LOOK AT THE PIC. HES GOT A TAIL SO I KNOW HES A BOY ,JUST DONT WANT HIM TO BE ILL AS I RESCUED HIM FROM A WOMAN WHO WAS GOING TO PUT HIM TO SLEEP COS SHE COULDNT BE BOTHERED TO LOOK AFTER HIM ANYMORE:X

He's got a tail....so you know he's a boy....? Maybe I am misinterpreting what you are saying, but all rabbits have tails, despite gender. It is incredibly hard to sex rabbits because both males and females have gentialia that 'pop' out and both pretty much look like penises until you look at the subtle details.

It is totally possible he is having a heavy moult, though.
