I am SO fuming at the moment...

I've been needing more cages for weeks. I have two litters to wean, with their mothers due in another week. What am I suppose to do? Stick them upstairs in no cage?

Before I get yelled at, I paid my father to pick up 9 cages, plus feeders, water bottles, and a carrier while he was down in oregon for /three days/... (Staying in the same town, even.) What did he avoid doing until 7 pm on Saturday? Go to the physical store to pick them up. Guess what? They close at 4! >.>;

He didn't even bother to check the store hours. I can't believe he'd assume that they'd be open at 7/8 pm on a Saturday!

I am SO upset. I already sat and cried for half an hour. I know, I know. Very immature. But there's so few things of actual substence I ask for. A monster energy drink, some food, and my rabbit stuff. Half of which I pay for. The other half, being loaned.

What am I suppose to do?! I have no water bottles. I'm already down 3 to begin with... I have no cages. My new chins are in NIC cages in my room. They STINK. I'm lacking crocks. This doesn't work! >.>; I was counting on this! And he KNEW that. He KNEW that I needed this.

I can't wait three more weekends for WA convention to pick up the cages. And I know he won't drive 3 hours down, and 3 back for cages. GRRRRR.

Sorry. I'm done ranting.

I fixed your title for you.

I'm sorry that you didn't get the cages. I really wish I had a better suggestion, but I can't think of anything at the moment.

:hug:

Nah. everyone else is just going to wait until they come up here for WA convention...

Plus the nearest person with rabbits is Emily, and past that.... It at least an hours drive.

=/ I just... I have nothing to put 10 babies in for two 1/2 weeks. Grrrr. I'm so stressed out, and this was the last thing I needed to go wrong.

I would have done the same thing.. That would have made me mad as heck too.. I wish I was closer and I would loan you solid cage.. :hug1

Just a suggestion (and I will probabl get fussed at for suggesting it), but I was trying to think outside the box as a small fix for the two weeks. What about taking a storage tote, drilling or punching large holes in the top and along the high sides, smaller holes towards the bottoms to allow for PLENTY OF VENTILLARION, and lining the bottom with hay for comfort. It isn't perfect but it may do the trick for a few weeks?????? Good Luck.

I'm so sorry - what about trying Craigslist to see if you can BORROW some cages for 3 weeks - or buy some cheap?

Just a thought....

The big thing I'm worried about is the heat coming in. We never get over 70... yesterday was over 80. o.o; And it's suppose to get hot for the next few weeks.

Inside my house is TERRIBLE. My room; the only place I can put excess cages and the NIC deal, got to be almost 95 degrees yesterday. It just bakes up there. =/ So I had to bring the new chins outside, and put them in carrying cages with water crocks.

Now we're most likely not going to WA convention, where I was due to pick up a couple of new does, because I threw a fit and didn't prune two bushes out back? I'm sorry. It was really hot yesterday... And by the time it was cool enough to go outside, I was in the middle of a teenage anger fit. Gah.

Oh bugger, if you be good and listen to your perants they might allow you to go to the WA Conevention.
I was thinking go to the warehouse and by a roll of wire, you bend them so they go in a box shape, thats what I did when I ran out of cages and then I had more than enough cages.

Another Idea is that you could find a cattery or kennel stud in your area maybe they could loan you some cages.

My kids are now 25 - so I'm a bit past having a teenager in the house.

However, my suggestion as a parent would be to prune the bushes (without being asked if they're still needing it) and then apologize to your parents for your anger fit. Possibly explain that you were hot and that made you even more grumpy and you're sorry for the way you treated them.

Then maybe ask them if they would "trade" the punishment - by maybe giving you extra chores for a week or so that you will do WITHOUT COMPLAINING)....and still go to the WA convention. Perhaps point you need to be there because you were supposed to get new does and someone else is depending on you to be there

Good luck - I hope you can find a solution that works. I know its tough being a teenager - and tough being a parent of one. I hope they will listen to you if you come to them with an apology and perhaps an idea of something you can trade and still go to the convention.

I know. And I did go out earlier today and clean the entire backyard, short of mowing it. Not to mention cleaned, pressure washed, and sterilized all the cages.

There's a lot more to it then just my rabbit stuff, even though that's one of the biggest issues. And I will point out that they think the hobby is silly, and that it doesn't matter if I cancel on a few people I'm picking animals up from. >.>;;

I'm just stressed about the timing. It was put off far too long, and then it didn't happen. I had to wean the babies, and put their mother, who's due in a few days (long story), in with the chins that I'm watching for sneezing. >.>;;; There was no other way to work it out.

Hopefully everything will work itself out. =/
