Uuuh. Here's the litter that shouldn't have himis. XD

Here's all 10 babies.
Sable points are Sadie (SP) x Kiddo (SP)
Himis and 2 SS's are Beatrix (SS) x Calla (Himi)
Smaller SS's are Lily (SP) x Calla (Himi)

These are Bea's four. And the litter that I'm up in the air about. (20 days old)

Lily's two. These guys are 17 days old.

Sadies four. These guys should be 30 days old.

Now for the odd stuff.
One of lily's litters is spotted. I assume I should cull this out?

And here's the himi's. I'm worried about how their coloring is coming in? Their sire has rather messed up points. I hoped breeding to a shaded would help darken the points, but now I'm not so sure?

I know nothing about color or types, but I do know cute when I see it - those are gorgeous! I specially like the small black ones! so cute

Cull can mean more then kill though
(I'm hoping she didn't mean kill)

Culling can be not keeping to breed, and things like that.
:yeahthat:

I really don't think she meant she would kill it. Probably just sell it as pet quality or to a different breeder or keep it but just not use it to breed or show....idk. But I don't think she meant she'd kill it.

As some others have said cull rarely means kill. It usually means to sell as a pet. The definition of cull is to remove from herd, not kill. :wink

Some breeders do dispose of poorly marked rabbits. I spoke to one and she told me that the problem is that when you raise a marked breed, and you get 8 to 12 babies in a litter and say 6 or 8 of them are not show quality and marked wrong, you can't really sell them to another breeder because they won't want mismarked babies, but you can sell maybe 2 or 3 for pets. The others, well, that is 3 to 6 babies, you have no where to put. Perhaps you can auction them or put them on the raffle table, but then you don't know what someone will do with them anyway. Some other babies are disposed of because of genetic issues.

Culling after day two (or on some occasions 4-5 if i need the body heat or "number" of a deformed kit while i wait for the foster litter to be born...) means to pet out.

There's quite a market for pets around here. I just have a problem letting go of them. XD

They are all beautiful. I particularily like the colour of the sable points. Wouldn't mind to have that cropping up in one of my litters:)

I knooow, right? I fell in love with them. Sooo excited to finally be getting them in my litters.

The only thing I'm sad about is how smutty they are right now. I'm thinking I need some rews. XD

I don't like having himi's in my shaded lines. I don't really like the color in general, to be honest.

However, I'll probably have a group of them any ways. I'd rather not start having himis pop up in my shaded litters rather than a sable point, however, since they're what I'm really shootin' for. =D

but anyways.. What's that green marking that you have in the ear?? That is a good ideal. I should do that because I have a litter of lionheads, And I have 2 chestnuts, And they are the same color and like...

It's nail polish. They get marked all different colors as soon as they get their names. The two with green, however, are to mark them apart from the other siamese sables in the litter. They have different moms.

I need to mark the sable points soon. They got their names, based how how much I like each one, and I could tell them apart because of their heads/type for a while, but now they're getting too similar. XD

Most people just do dots in the ear with a tattoo pen. I have a feeling using nail polish isn't the best idea, but it stays until you make it come off. With the last litter, i marked them at 14 days, and it stuck all the way to 16 weeks. XD
