I am not sure if this is the right spot to post this.

Prince is on this probiotic for 14 days. I have to give him 1/2 inch every 12 hours. It is measured in grams, I have 15g. I am wondering how many grams is 1/2 inch? Can anyone who knows this tell me? I called the vet and asked and they said I can put 1/2 inch on my finger and see how many grams it says on the thing.

How many grams is 1/2 inch?

I have to give him his dose at 9:45am. Sorry for the short notice.

That's interesting. I usually just say a good dose for probiotic is approximately 1g. If it's Probios in a tube for horses, or Bene-Bac in a big tube, that's probably about 1/2inch.

Ok! I wasn't real sure. Thank you Claire for helping. Then I will give him about 1g every 12 hours. The vet said to give him the probiotic every 12 hours. He is also on Baytril every 12 hours for 10 days(have about 9 days left); Buprenex every 12 hours for another 8 days; and Metacam once a day for another 3 days. I just gave him his medicine this morning. Also he has a soft e-collar on so he doesn't bother the incision site on his right rear leg.

I am glad they gave him strong pain meds too.

He wants to hop around so bad. When I take him out of his carrier, he trys to hop. I can't let him for 5 to 6 weeks. I also have to exercise his leg twice a day. So I have a lot to remember.

Thank you again Claire. It is nice to know that I am doing the right thing.
