We brought Princess (female) and Mocha (male) home to share our bunny den with them in February of 2014 when they were about six weeks old. As soon as they were old enough, we spayed and neutered them and proceeded to learn much from them about their favorite things and about life in general.
Princess is the more shy of the two, still startling more easily than Mocha, and even recoiling at first when we pet her. We joke that she is judging us and all who enter through our doors. However, when one of us is upset, she is the one to approach and make herself a comforting presence. During her down time, Princess likes to find a pillow (purple is her favorite as she is clearly of royalty), and perch herself atop it. Mocha has earned his nickname "Crash Bundicoots" by zooming around and knocking into things. He is more comfortable receiving affection, does victory laps when he gets his favorite treat (thin slice of apple) and has grown at a slower rate than Princess. Early on, he would see that they were being offered treats and find her to let her know the goods were in abundance, so he has a sharing, protective spirit. Princess provides comfort and shelter for Mocha as he regularly goes in for the "off the hook snuggle" and hides in her fur. When we found the two in a pet shop (where they shouldn't have been, because buying rabbits in Los Angeles county is no longer accepted) Princess was hiding underneath a pile of baby bunnies and Mocha was front and center on his own.
Both of them like to preen David's hair when he lets them and sit at my feet when I'm working at the computer during the day. The have a Bunny Godmother in one of our best friends and help us to remain calm and carry on.
