We have a neighbor, who's been my neighbor all my life basically..I grew up with his daughter. Now that I live in my parents house, he helps in anyway possible. After the Hurricane he was right there with us clearing our trees and priming our water well, he brings me hay for my bunnies for free, he keeps some of my animals in his barn as overflow, he contributed money to Jarred's heifer fund, brings food over when he knows I have had a treatment..when I had the gas leak, he came and used his tractor to dig up my yard instead of me having to pay someone to do it..and refused any gas money. He's let me borrow his Horse trailer when I didn't have one.. he's just an all around fantastic guy, my son adores him, and spends many an afternoon shootin the breeze with him at his barn..my son really looks up to Mr.Brown.

He does contract work on his tractor.. it's an older model.. no roll cage, he was on the levee at the tank farm at a local refinery, and on the incline, it rolled over on him, weight of the tractor crushing him. All we do know is he has punctured lungs, and skull injuries, and is still unconsious. He was life flighted and is in critical condition..

Please pray that this sweet man pulls through..

Adding my prayers for a full recovery for your friend as well...his family and all of his friends must be going through enormous worry over him....

:pray::pray::pray:

This is what the update is as of today, and I had to have some of it explained to me by Greg, Ty's daddy.. a former Paramedic.

He is concious (sp?) but, both lungs are punctured, but apparently not so bad that they need surgery. However he does have several broken ribs, badly broken. He will also need some reconstructive surgery on both his cheekbones and nose. He also had some discoloration to his head from lack of oxygen, but his color has since returned. They said he was responsive to his kids and the doctor's, but became very fidgety and combative, so they put him back to sleep.

Greg tells me that when someone has a suspected braindamage they become fidgety and combative, and they usually leave them in a drug induced coma to let the brain heal itself, so only time will tell if there is any permanent brain damage.

Thanks guys for your prayers and well wishes.. we are certainly in need of them..

Broken ribs are incredibly painful. When Greg fell on black ice this past winter, we learned some specialists are now actually doing surgery to set broken ribs with metal supports. Apparently this isn't widely available but if used, the healing time is cut dramatically.

A sleep is probably the best and kidest place for him to be right now. Prayers for his continued recovery.

Zin, I missed seeing this somehow..... we know all too well what can happen in this sort of thing - we lost a family friend a few years ago to a similar thing and a man near here died this past week from a tractor rolling onto him.

Still praying......

He sounds like a really wonderful man! I'm hoping he will pull through just fine, and I'm sure he will :)
