Tomorrow......Housecleaning 101....guests welcome.....

1st on the agenda.....how to clean a bathroom aka (the toilet will NOT bite and your skin is washable...

2nd on the agenda....."honest just having a pathway through your room is NOT acceptable"

3rd......"No you do not need to wait until you have no clean clothes to do laundry"

4th....."The vacuum is your friend"

My 18y/o just did the "Oh my gosh mom....my friends are going to SEE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I always think it's funny when people have their parents on their facebook... I was iffy about even adding my cousin.

Some things should just be kept separate. :p

Well it was the original agreement when they were younger for them to even get a myspace. Then they got their facebook and just added me. Funny thing is their friends all know my goofy sense of humor and it doesn't cause problems. We also have alot of mutual friends which may seem weird but they have alot of friends who are in their mid 20's (almost mentors I guess) and these are people whom we are friends with (we end up being mentors to them). Alot of them are from church/youth group etc. It works for us, but I'm not saying it would work for everyone that's for sure. And my kids and their younger friends will tell you I'm there for them to talk to and give advice if wanted....but I will also be a parent when necessary :)

My kids also have my goofy sense of humor and get their own revenge on occasion....like posting silly things I have done. (Like mom's severe over-reaction to what I thought was a humongoid spider....it was string) we just laugh alot at each other's foibles :)

It is so awesome to have a relationship with your kids like that....that is what my son & I are like (well - my daughter too - but she doesn't do much with facebook).

I do on occasion have to make sure they "tone down" their teasing because while mom is used to it I do NOT want them feeling they can tease everyone that way. But they are awesome and they seem to tell me alot...although not at the best times (mom almost wrecked the car a few times now due to things they have decided to tell me while I was driving hehe)

I think I need to be there for your Housecleaning 101
I might be 28 but All those things are me lol.

I'll tell you one thing and the mom of sons will love this one...make them clean their own bathroom and they suddenly develop much better aim :)

Glad you like that one....I had to find a way to word it "delicately". I had to find a solution because when I would say something I'd get told, "but mom, we're half asleep"......its amazing the difference:)

I just heard a thing on NPR about " aim" problems...I guess public restrooms, especially in Europe, are putting etchings of flies in urinals, and they've reduced "spillage" by 80%! There was also an American mom of 3 boys who just drew a target in her toilet with a red sharpie. She said her bathroom was much much cleaner now.

Re: Family on facebook...I don't mind being friends with my actual family, it's my in-laws I wish hadn't friended me. Now I can't complain about them there.

You can always unfriend them. They don't get any sort of message when you do that.

I think that might upset my husband. I just complain via email now. LOL.

I can confirm that one. My son has been cleaning the toilet as part of his chores for years now. It does work :).
