I have a 1 year old male English Spotted rabbit named Benny. A few days ago, Benny injured his eye. I didn't see the injury happen, in fact I originally thought it was an eye infection. But when I brought him to the vet yesterday the vet said it was a cut on his eyelid. Anyway, he gave me some medicine to put on it and the swelling is starting to go down.
Today, I started Benny on a new type of rabbit pellets, and he's not eating much. Usually he's a very enthusiastic eater who loves his breakfast. I'm wondering if it might mean a complication/infection/something to do with his eye or the medicine, or if it's just that he's not used to this new kibble and he'll start eating normally again soon. Should I be worried?

Get some of his old pellets and see if he'll eat them. FYI, it's a good idea to change rabbit pellets slowly by mixing a little of the new stuff into the old stuff. Some rabbits get tummy upsets when their pellets are changed too quickly. Also, some are just picky and need time to adjust to new pellets.

Hey guys. My vet actually called me to check how Benny was doing, and I asked him about not eating. He said basically the same thing, and also mentioned that because they had to anesthetize him yesterday, him being a little listless today is expected. I probably should have remembered to mention that, and I might have come to that conclusion myself.
Anyway, today he ate some pellets and some dandilion leaves that I brought him, so I think he's going to be okay. :) Thanks for the help!
