Okay against every thing i did my mom put my two rabbits together and being a boy and a girl they did what they do best and now I'm waiting to see if shes pregnant or not so i can start the process of getting both fixed (my mom is against getting them fixed completely and says the ONLY reason she even got the rabbits was to breed and I'm not cool with that!! And she wants babies cuz she thinks shes gonna make all kinds of money so shes not even letting me take them anywhere till she makes the money bak she paid for my male )

But, heres my question. They were together on april 27th and today she started pulling fur is that normal!? Shes had babies before and never started this till the night before the babies were born (that was a surprise litter, the lady who gave her to me didn't know her male got her so she was already pregnant when i got her 7months ago). And if shes starting the nesting process what should i do!? She not litter trained so her bedding needs changed and theres no nesting box (she don't like things like that in her cage they freak her out and she growls and attacks the box and thats part of the reason shes not litter box trained.) do i clean around the fur she pulled or is there something i can put in the cage she might use for the fur that gets lost while cleaning!?

A rabbits gestation period is 29 to 31 days although some does give birth earlier/later then that. Almost all rabbits give birth on the 31st day. If she was bred on the 27th then she isn't due until the end of May. I bred my doe in march and she pulled fur 2 weeks later, she never had babies. I just bred her again and i can tell she is pregnant. If you know your rabbit pretty well then you should be able to see a behavior and eating change in her, that's what I see in my doe.

Normally, if a doe pulls fur in the middle of a presumed pregnancy, it is false, and there are no kits. They pull the fur because they know they've been bred but they aren't actually pregnant. But i have heard of does pulling fur a few weeks in advance and having kits. The only way you really can tell for sure is to wait. Is her behavior changing? Is she eating more? She will eat more and she will become more aggressive and protective. As the weeks go on, when you reach to pet her she might make a noise or snap at you because she is trying to protect her babies. Another way to tell if she is pregnant is pulling at her fur, it should be loose and you should be able to pull some out. That's how it should be so she can pull fur for the nest. You can take out the fur that she already pulled and save it and use it if she ends up having babies. All you can do for now is wait and if she's become more aggressive and is starting to eat more she could be pregnant but you never know. This is all advice from experience, the does I've bred that actually had kits never pulled fur a few weeks in advance but every doe is different. I hope this helped you! :)

Man, what is up with your mum? You can't make much money backyard breeding rabbits, they sell for less than $50 a pop and litters tend to be too small to make over a couple hundred bucks maybe. For the effort of keeping two intact rabbits separately, and the additional food and space for the pregnant mum and kits, and 3 months of waiting before they're old enough to sell...so not worth it.

Good luck with your little bunbun, keep an eye out for any kits in case she is pregnant. Hopefully your mum sees the light soon, and realises how much more valuable having healthy, happy, fixed pets are!
