I'm trying to stay realistic. Triscuithas always been smaller, and less robust than her littermate,Disco. Two days ago I removed the nest box. Discotook to the new scene fantastically, Triscuit, not so much.

Since I don't know Triscuits level of energy before I removed the box,I cannot tell if he/she's getting worse, or just the same, but there isa distinct difference in the development of the two kits, not just size.

Also, Triscuit's eyes are having a hard time staying open. Ihave to gently cotton ball them every day. Even when they areopen, they are half closed. He/she's just not as healthy asthe other kit. I don't think he/she has mucoidenter-whatever, but I did notice some hard sticky stuff stuck to thefur around the tail and cleaned it off. I am doing everythingI can to keep this little nugget going. Disco is eatingpellets and hay and exploring the cage a lot. I've seenTriscuit eating a little hay, but mostly sleeps and snuggles againstmom. I've been hand feeding a little water with terramycinevery few hours or so. Hutch water has terramycin aswell. I even woke up in the middle of the night a few timesto check on them. The doe is a superb mother and is doatingon her kits every second. She cares very much for Triscuitand Disco, it's rather wonderful to watch. She really seemsto enjoy her babies.

I'm a little put off by the health information I've found inthe books and the net about sick baby bunnies. The impressionI get is "Don't do too much to save a sick bunny...they never grow upto be worth anything so why bother" Urrg!:X

I think I'm doing everything I can, but if there is any advice, Iappreciate your thoughts and taking the time to cheer Triscuit on to ahealthy future.

Does anyone think I should maybe supplement her diet with kit formula? The mom seems to be nursing well.

The kits are 20 days old today.

I don't have any advice to offer...:(

However I do have lots of thoughts and prayers that can be sent your way!!!!

Hopefully some of our more experinced members will soon be along to offer some guidance.

I would supplement with Nutri Cal and keep aclose watch on the eye situation. The Nutri Cal is easilyabsorbed into the system and can help boost immunity because it iseasily metabolized.

Most pet stores have it -- it's a high caloriesupplement for dogs and cats. Many on-line rabbit supplystores also carry it as well as pet supply catalogs.

I ran out and picked some up at the localAnimart. It's in a tube...how much do I use andhow?Should I dilute it in waterandusefeeding dropper?

Thanks so much for your help.

I also bought some Magnum Horse Bedding. Is that close toWoody Pet? Lots of different litters/beddings...wow!

I was impressed with Animart's selection of rabbit supplies, great hutches....and happily no rabbits for sale. :D

Lots of other animals, however :(.

I looked at the Magnum Horse Bedding website and it appears to be very similar to Woody Pet.

Let us know how it performs!!

I think Trisc is making a bit of a comeback. This last attempt with water and a bit of nutri-cal, Iwas suprised at a much feistier bun-attude than this morning.

Mom licked off any nutri-cal left on Triscuit. It will get to the kit one way or another.

Both eyes 3/4 open and looking brighter, an improvement, but still worrysome.

Tail looks fine and dry.

Thanks to all,I'll keep you posted. Post more pictures tomorrow hopefully.
