I *think* this is how a Polish is supposed to be posed....anyone know if this is correct? In his first picture Beebo's head was much lower to the ground, in this one he's sitting almost like a nethie, well sort of. Oh...I had to photoshop the sunburn out on his flanks, it was pretty ugly. Poor Beebo.

Here's the prince...::p

He is gorgeous :)

Sorry i am not the best to tell you seen as we are muddled compared to you and our polish are yoru brittania petites :pand they pose very high !!

Pam would be one of the best to tell you but i think she is stillhaving problems getting on

my, my, the prince sure is looking good ;)

the Polish seems similar to the Netherland Dwarfs (to my very inexperience eye, I should add lol!). What feature(s) distinguishes these 2 breeds? Is it that NDs have shorter ears and maybe flatter faces? Polish are small-sized rabbits, too, right?

I was wondering the same thing. I know that Polish have a more square face as opposed to the rounded face of the netherland dwarves... and they are also just a little bit bigger. They're still very small, though- between 2-3 lbs, ideally 2.5.

Awe! Thanks for the nice comments you guys. I think the two breeds have several simularities and as you mentioned, they are a little bit bigger than the Netherland Dwarfs. Beebo has a nethie looking head in my opinion when I believe is a fault in Polish, I don't know, I'm still learning about this breed daily.

I posted a photo of a black Netherland Dwarf anda black Polish below for comparison below.

The Netherland Dwarf is smaller, weighing under 2 1/2 pounds. The Polish can weigh up to 3 1/2 pounds.

The coats of the two breeds are very different. Netherland Dwarf is rollback, Polish is flyback.

The Polish have a very fine bone, where the Netherland Dwarf is medium to heavy in bone.

The ears are a little different. The Netherland's should be well rounded at the tips are are very thick. They don't necessarily have to touch together. The Polish ears should be held perfectly erect, touching all the way up. They generally aren't as thick as the Netherland Dwarf ears and aren't as rounded.

The head of the Netherland Dwarf is rounded in all directions. The Polish head is not rounded in all directions.

The eyes of the Polish should be very bold, and have more consideration in judging that the eyes of the Netherland Dwarf.

The Netherland Dwarf has a high head mount and it should sit up on the judging table, where the Polish has a very low head mount and is posed down on the table.

The Netherland Dwarf has nearly 30 show varieties (colors). The Polish only comes in 6 show colors.

The body of the Netherland Dwarf is a short, round ball. The Polish has a medium body with a slight taper to the shoulders like a commercial breed would have.

The UK Polish is very different from our American Polish. The UK Polish resembles our Britannia Petite.

Wow, thanks for the info Pam. After reading your post, I can see that Beebo is Not posing like a Polish should in this picture. Ah well, I can never get his head low to the ground, he likes it up.:p Heehee, thanx Alexah! I think Beebo is getting kinda lonely, he's been the only bun for a several months now. Hopefully soon that will change! Thanks you guys!:biggrin2:

Great info, Pam! thanks! the differences between the 2 breeds are clearer to me now, theoretically, lol! i still need to train my eyes to distinguish between them when i see pictures of the rabbits :p
