Holland lops are supposed to sit up slightly. Pretty much just set him down on the table and make sure that all his feet are touching the ground, but not his elbows. Other than that, make sure his tail is out (might have to pick up his rear end to make the tail come out). To make him sit up, just pick up his chest and set him back a little bit so his front feet are just barely in front of his back toes. Look for show pictures of Hollands to get an idea of how they're supposed to look.

I find that the nicest quality show rabbits tend to pose on their own - especially for hollands. Its like it it is a more comfortable way for them to sit.

Not sure if other breeders notice that too - but that is the way it is here.

What tiny's mom said is true.

if your getting into breeding, you need to find some shows and have people show you what to do. And get you an SOP.

I agree with TinysMom first hand. A good show quality Holland Lop will ususally pose on his or her own. My neices Holland lop FuFu was born to pose. When I was looking to get a Holland for show I looked for Jr's that posed natrually. They had to have everything else of course.

A few of hte hollands that I've had, either presently or in the past, will sit nice and pretty and posed in their cages, but seem to refuse to do so on the table . . . So be careful of them as you are looking about. THe standard will help to a point, but defenently look for a breeder that has some great stock and see what they can show you. I had help from Larry Washburn when I was working on Hollands, right now I'm working a lot with Gerhart because I've decided to sell out my hollands sinceI love the dutchies more
