I know that plum twigs are a no no but what about just the fruit? Didn't see it on any lists.

What about sunflowers the whole plant? Someone told me they lop the flower off and let the rabbit go to town on it. Is this cool or is this bad?

Thanks alot guys.

Its on one of the lists I gave you in the other posts. Says plums are fine.

I can't find Sunflowers on this safe list

Nor can I find it on this toxic list

In short, nto sure about sunflowers. They can definitely have the seeds, but only in extreme moderation.

It's one of those things, when in doubt, just don't do it. Far safer for Belldandy this way.

Hopefully you're not introducing all these new things to her so soon? Only one new food should be introduced at any one time to ensure it doesn't upset her.

I'm not introducing them just as before We have them in the house most of the time. Our little one eats lots of fresh produce so I'm just trying to get a handle on what she (Belldandy) can and cannot have. I'm compiling a list so it can get hung above her cage so everyone in the house and those who might be pet sitting can know what she is and isn't allowed to have.

That's a smart idea :) It might be worth compiling as you go along so you know what are safe for her because obviously what is safe for rabbits in general does not necessarily agree with all rabbits. That way your safe list is complied of foods you know her tummy can tolerate and that she likes.

I was going to start a "won't Hurt the bunny list" then once a week try something off that list and record the reactions before typing up the final copy.

That's a great idea! That way you'll have a list specific for your bunny. Great for if someone needs to bunny-sit her!

About sunflowers, I know of people who feed the flower petals, but I have never tried it. I have given Hazel the little sunflower sprouts though, little "seedlings" about an inch or 2 high. She's been fine with those, occasionaly (usually in spring, when I have sunflowers sprouting up all over the place, especially where I don't want them, lol).

They are on the "safe flowers" list on this site:

Lots of interesting foods and flowers there to try.

I was going to cut a few of them down and just toss them in the bunny pen outside. We have so many thanks to the birds dropping them in the front yard....lol. Next year I was thinking about planting a row for her in her bunny pen, the really tall ones that way she can get some shade and it will look nice, I don't know if that is important to belldandy but it is to me...lol.
