As you all know, I am from Montreal, Quebec. There has always been tensions between the francophones and anglophones here. I find it so incredibly stupid
Well earlier this week, things took a serious turn in two high schools a few streets away from me.
Turns out, that at lunch time, kids from both schools went to a Burger King. There, some french kids kept throwing ice cubes atsome anglophone students. Well, one girl wasn't too bright and threw a racist insult out. So... When she and her friend left the resto, the french kids followed. I am guessing those kids used their cells and got more of their buddies rounded up and when the two girls reached the park, they were attacked by about 50 kids.
Both girls needed to be taken to the hospital. The girl that said the insult suffered head and back injuries, along with fractured ribs, and many other injuries. The emotional pain will be the worst. I could seesheer terrorin her eyes. I must tell you I sobbed when I saw the video. Her friend that tried to come to her help was also beaten, though I saw at the end that some guy pulled her to him and shielded her. I have no idea which school he was from but I'm glad to helped her.
It was absolutely horrible to watch (the video has been on the news). To make matters worse, the kids on both sides (two french kids were arrested) are all enraged now and are planning a revenge. Police will be around, but there won't be any cops on the city buses or things like that
It's so scary to think that these are children being so hateful towards each other. They're supposed to be getting an education, finding themselves, going through life's challenges, not killing each other! God, it's so very sad. This is terrifying for the students, as well as their parents.I've had my own experience with confrontations but luckily not one or two people was ever surrounded like that.
Please keep them in your mind.
