Hi I am new here and was wondering if you guys could help me out, today I noticed my rabbits nail was in a random position. She does not seem to be any any pain she let me touch her toe but not the nail. Does she need medical attention or is it just a random rabbit thing?

here are some pics of it sorry for graininess

It looks like it broke at the nail bed becausethe nail istoo long; it may fall off on its own and at that point it will be fine.

Right now the broken nail would be painfulfor her soI would suggest that you see a vet .

If you keep your rabbit's nails trimmed this is less likely to occur. If you are uncomfortable doing this yourself most vets who work with exotics can do it and/ or teach you. .

Hi guys the nail fell off during the night. Thank you for your help it's off to the vet for her. I do try to cut her nails but she fights so much to the point where shell bite and scratch. It's my fault for lettin her be a diva.

I never try cutting by myself. The small rabbits are hard enough, but our Checkered Giant is 18 pounds. They had to weigh her on the dog scale. My son does the holding and I do the cutting. You might get someone at the vet to give you pointers as our vet tech does them by herself.
