I don't have photos right now but I will get them this week. Here is a bit of the background.
My main herd doe is Cindy - she has been in three shows - at the state show she lost out on BOB to the senior doe. (I bought her at that show). At the next show - she took BOB in both shows (double show) and all three judges stated that she had a very promising show career because she had a nice crown and type, etc.
This was April of 2010.
After that I bred her to Zuba and she gave me two daughters - Portia and Dotty.
In April of this year, I bred all 3 girls back to Zuba (who has since passed away) and I now have 9 babies that were born May 17th.
I struggle sometimes to understand the crown and I've been reading through the HLRSC guidebook and feel even more confused.
Here is what I know from watching the babies so far....
Several of them have the larger "bulldog" type heads.
Several of them have larger bones (from looking at their feet and legs)
Three or four of them seem to naturally sit in a posed position (when I worked with lionheads - that was one thing I watched for).
Of the nine babies - two are broken (both male) - and seven of the nine are male (I think). (I was hoping for does...go figure!)
I am thinking that I want to keep one broken male (I suspect I know which one) and one male from each doe - but possibly ones with slightly different strengths.
I think my questions go along these lines...
If I get a couple of nice bucks from these litters though - I could be happy with that.
As I said, I'll try to get photos in the next day or so - but I'm just wondering when to start judging them and if its too soon and I want to make sure that I understand what I'm doing.

- Help me understand the crown again - in "idiot-proof" language. I know enough to remember that the ears are NOT supposed to fold (some of these babies have ears that fold slightly sorta but I suspect it might be because their heads haven't caught up to their ears? Is that possible?).
- Should the ears hang down below the jaw or how low should they hang?
- At what age do you start deciding who to keep and who to not keep for your breeding program? Is this too early?
If I get a couple of nice bucks from these litters though - I could be happy with that.
