Hi guys!

I need some urgent help. This morning I noticed some scabs at the edge of my bunnies mouth. I have no idea what these would be from. His nose also looks like there’s a bit of dried snot or something like between his nose and his lips.

His eyes also look a tiny bit funny, however that may just be due to there being so much fur in his environment floating around.

I’ve also noticed that he has had what I am presuming to be hiccups twice in the last three days, which I have not seen before from him.

I really need some help and advice from people as to what may be going on.
Just last month one of the girls he is bonded with was treated for a lung/ respiratory infection I should add.

I have attached some photos of the scabs (they aren’t great, but they’re the best I could get)

If you zoom in on the photos you can see what I’m talking about below his nose in regards to snot(?)

If it's not just stained fur from food but the skin itself is scaly or has lesions, it will most likely be caused by rabbit syphilis or fungal dermatitis.

Medirabbit: rabbit syphilis

Medirabbit: fungal dermatitis

For either one you'll need to have your rabbit vet take a look at it so the appropriate medication can be prescribed.

Thank you for replying!

How would he catch this? They haven’t been anywhere, and he is acting normal otherwise.

My only other thought where it may have been from, is that they have a wire cat tunnel in their house, that the chewed the plastic off so the wire was exposed. I’ve seen him try to throw it, but his mouth ran along the wire. Could that possibly cause it too??

How it's contracted should be in the links I shared above.

Maybe the cat tunnel could cause some irritation if your rabbit was chewing on it a lot. If you remove the cat tunnel and the issue clears up, that would confirm it's the cause. But if not and/or it worsens, there's something else going on.
