So we just got our Christmas tree, and we had to cut a few branches off... are they safe for buns?

If they were, I was thinking of baking the branches after removing the pine needles, and letting the buns chew them.

This is their first Christmas, so I don't know much about the safety of pine trees and stuff.. =P

I wasn't gunna do anything without asking cause I'm super paranoid XD

There's also mini pinecones on there O:

The tree is a concolor my dad said =P

*waits for sure answer*
I want to bake it as soon as possible if the buns can eat it/chew it!

Pine has phenols that can cause organ damage and kidney failure. Not good for bunnies.

Thank you! Someone on another thread said it was okay so I was unsure and made my own thread. Glad I did! They'll be getting no

They are ok but not in large quantities. Baking them would be good to help remove some of those aromatic oils that can be harmful to their livers. The pinecones are good too. It may make their urine brightly colored but that's ok. My guys have been known to chew on the tree while it's up (live tree) and it's hilarious (and safe, as long as they don't eat tinsel or too much of the tree).

Muppet loves pine cones and the long needles to munch on. They fall around her hutch and sometimes the needles slip into her hutch through the cracks. So she must think little snacks just fall from the sky!

Thanks everyone =]
I might take a few twigs from the bottom (thin ones so they'll have less aromatic qualities and such) and bake those =]
